The U.S. Constitution has stood the test of time. It has been amended only 27 times in over 224 years. Perhaps the most famous amendment is the Fourteenth since it contains the due process clause. It states in so many words that no person may be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. This means that every U.S. citizen has the opportunity to appear in court to address any grievance. Ultimately, this right allows a jury of citizens to determine the result by applying the law to the facts which they determine.
